The team is like a complete vehicle. The vehicle can be under normal operation so long as the components are complete. The vehicle will go wrong if one component is lost. The team member is like the component of the vehicle, and becomes valuable after it is installed in the vehicle. Otherwise, one wheel doesn’t have driving function. Any vehicle may go wrong. The team may encounter various problems no matter how famous and strong it is. The thought of team members is different. Even though the team members reach an agreement in one aspect, it is temporary. If the thought of team members is uniform, the team is inefficient. It means that eight members or more people do the same work. The team pays attention to resource complementarity, and prevents overlapped resource. The team with complementary resources boast the lowest cost, otherwise, even though the team objective is realized, it is meaningless because of high cost. The team is a mature product, and has content in spiritual level and functional level. An excellent team reaches a consensus in the spiritual level rather than the functional level. As the saying goes, “friends attracted to each other by common tastes”, “Men of totally different principles can never act together”. An excellent team is formed by taking a function and makes success by spirit. The function is hardware, while spirit is software. The software is difficult to make assessment due to lack of standards. It is evaluated by feelings such as “personal loyalty” or “at one fling”. However, there are rules to follow. A team is required to own the following six features: (1) Clear Objective: Every team member can have different purposes and different personalities, but the team member is required to have a common objective as a whole. (2) Clear Role: An efficient team should have clear organizational structure, clear role definition and division of labor. The team members should have a clear understanding of their own positioning and responsibility. (3) Skills: The team members are required to have the basic skills for realizing the common objective and make good cooperation. (4) Mutual Trust: Mutual trust is the most striking feature of a successful team. (5) Good Communication: The team members make smooth communication in the aspect of information and emotion, so as to coordinate staff action and develop cohesive force and fighting capacity. (6) Suitable Leadership: The team leaders play a role of training or supporting, and provide guidance and support rather than control of subordinates.
